With over 40 years of experience in the field of education and the latest input from continuing professional development in a wide range of areas, I am up to date and well prepared to support today’s children and young people throughout their school years.
My journey began at the comprehensive school in Sihlwald, where I taught students from grades 1 to 6, followed by starting a family and more than 20 years as a middle-school teacher at Grüningen Primary School. In addition to my work as a class teacher, I served as a mentor for student teachers, was a practice teacher for career changers, and was involved in various working groups. Establishing and leading the Peacemaker project for violence prevention was also a matter close to my heart.
Supporting students of all age groups in their school careers is both exciting and rewarding. A joy in learning is to be discovered and self-efficacy strengthened, with playful elements playing an essential role. Collaboration with parents forms the foundation of this work and parent counselling is an integral part of my role.
I am also active in the field of teacher professional development. As a coach for primary and secondary school teachers, I offer support and guidance to help colleagues further develop their skills. In doing so, I work in close contact with school leadership teams.
Thanks to my three-year, part-time course of study at the Unterstrass Institute in Zurich and at the Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH), I was able to deepen my expertise and build valuable professional networks. I draw on these resources whenever needed.
I am passionate about sharing my knowledge and look forward to continuing to make a positive contribution to the educational landscape.
